A new life for unique stories
January 20, 2010
Montreal, January 6, 2010 - Life Stories Montreal and the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre (MHMC) are pleased to announce that close to 500 Holocaust survivor interviews have recently been digitized.
Since the 1990s, the MHMC has recorded, mostly via VHS support, the life stories of hundreds of Holocaust survivors, as many in English as in French, as in Hebrew and Yiddish. Thanks to collaboration with the Life Stories Montreal project, these interviews have been transferred to a digital format, ensuring their long term conservation as well as a greater accessibility and new possibilities for dissemination.
Next January 27, within the context of events organized by the MHMC to highlight the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, the collection of interviews, digitized by Life Stories Montreal, will be returned to the MHMC.
A new life begins for these unique stories!
