Volunteer
To succeed in achieving its mission, the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre needs many volunteers.
There are several ways to get involved and to make this opportunity a significant experience in your life.
Here are some possibilities:
Guide

If you answered yes to these questions, you would be an ideal candidate for guiding tours at the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Museum.
Guides share a common interest in reaching out and educating the public. They have the unique opportunity to significantly influence people's lives.
If you would like to participate as a guide, you will first receive training from professionals. These training sessions will give you the knowledge and qualifications necessary to give guided tours in the Museum.

Should you meet the requirements, you will be contacted when the next training session will take place.
Survivor Testimony
If you are a Holocaust survivor and you wish to share your experience with others, you are welcome to become a Holocaust survivor speaker for the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre.

With your testimony:
- You will bring a human dimension to an inhuman history.
- You will help educate and sensitize the public.
- You will contribute greatly to the Centre's educational mission.
You will give your testimony:
- either in a conference room close to the Museum, after visitors have received a guided tour,
- or at a school, institution or organization's location.
The Centre will provide you with all the help and support necessary for the preparation of your testimony.

Support volunteer
Support volunteers work in the Centre's office or at home.
Tasks include:
- Conducting research
- Translating
- Writing video transcripts of survivor testimonies
- Getting involved in other special projects
For example, support volunteers can:
- Translate Yiddish, German or other languages
- Help the Centre's museologist catalogue documents photographs and objects
- Complete the Holocaust survivor testimony database.
Support volunteers will receive training from the Centre's staff members.

Committee Members
There are many committees that support the development of programs and the democratic nature of the Centre. Volunteers can join Remembrance, Education, Museum and Board committees.
If you are interested in becomming a committee member, please phone the Centre at (514) 345-2605.
Volunteers:
- Are regularly invited to upcoming events (film screenings, workshops, conferences, etc.)
- Learn about history and acquire skills
- Participate in sensitizing the public about the Holocaust and other issues of racism, antisemitism and genocide
- Have the opportunity to get involved in committees. They can then develop and contribute to other projects at the Centre.
